I have been teaching with the Carlsbad Unified School District for thirty -four years. Over the course of my career,I have taught kindergarten, first, second, third, and fifth grade . I have enjoyed working at Hope Elementary for twenty- four of my thirty - four years. Working with such excellent students and families is the most enriching aspect of my job. My classroom will offer your child a positive environment where students are respected,valued and accountable. Your child will participate in a classroom where individual choices are made daily and positive behavior is both reinforced and rewarded. Your child will be instructed in small , personal groups for reading , math and writing. Parent volunteers will take an active role in your child's learning day. My strategy for curriculum is to make it both challenging and fun. I believe in revisiting standards repeatedly in a variety of ways so that the children have a firm understanding of the concepts being taught. My classroom will offer your child a nurturing environment where students are encouraged to grow at their individual pace. Students will constantly be challenged and excited about learning .
